Here are the Louisville numbers for June.....
HIGH 95 on the 4th
LOW 61 on the 15th
There were 4 days with highs in the 70s
18 days with highs in the 80s
8 days with highs in th 90s (still awaiting today's high)
7 of the 8 days in the 90s were in the first 10 days of the month.
Back on June 11th I posted that there would be less than 5 days of additional 90s in June with an outside chance at zero....we came close.
Temperatures averaged 3.3 degrees above normal for the month.
It still looks like this will be the warmest departure from normal for the 3 summer months.
It was another rainy month with a total of 7.14 inches in Louisville.
That.s 3.38" above normal or 190% of normal for the month.
There were 10 days with thunderstorms.
The 4 tornadoes touch downs in Jefferson County tied the record for most in one month in the county with January, 2008.
There is still a debate going on in weather circles about the Jeffersontown tornadoes. Click on the map for a larger view. The tracks all line up. The twister lifted up briefly and then touched backed down twice. The NWS is listing this as 3 tornadoes but you could also say it was just one with a longer track with a brief interuption. By the official rules though, once it lifts up, when it comes back down that is considered a different tornado.
There were 13 days with fog
There were 7 clear days
18 partly cloudy days
5 cloudy days
There were 3 days with an average wind speed of over 10 mph for the 24 hour period. That included the day with the tornadoes.
The calmest day had an average wind speed of 2.5 mph.
