Updated Saturday at 2:30 PM..... The SPC has increased the severe threat for Sunday night for the Ohio Valley.
Louisville is now in the 30% risk area which is an upper level SLIGHT RISK.
The hatch marks indicates a chance for EF2 or stronger tornadoes and 80 mph winds with some thunderstorms. Cities in this risk include......
Bowling Green
Paducah
Evasnville
Owensboro
Nashville
Memphis
Huntsville
Here is what the SPC says for the Ohio Valley region... THE EXACT DEGREE OF LOW-LEVEL MOISTENING AND DESTABILIZATION IS INHERENTLY MORE QUESTIONABLE ...ESPECIALLY GIVEN RECENT WINTER-TYPE PRECIPITATION ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE MIDWEST WHICH PARTIALLY COINCIDES WITH THE EXPECTED SURFACE LOW TRACK/BRUNT OF DPVA AS THE UPPER SYSTEM EVENTUALLY TAKES ON A MORE NEGATIVE TILT. THAT SAID...A ROBUST WIND FIELD/LATE NIGHT DEEPENING PHASE OF THE CYCLONE MAY CONTRIBUTE TO A RESPECTABLE THREAT FOR WIND DAMAGE/PERHAPS A FEW TORNADOES EVEN WHERE NEAR-SURFACE INSTABILITY IS SCANT ACROSS THE LOWER OH VALLEY.
The current time line has the line of storms moving across the interstate 65 corridor around midnight Sunday night or shortly after. This is not a weakening trend with the loss of the heating of the day.....meaning the storms will stay strong into the night. The wind field is there. Any amount of instability will increase the severe coverage. This is something to be watched to see how it develops on Sunday.
Storms at night that have a potential for a tornado are more dangerous than daytime storms because some people will ignore the severe threat if it occurs when they are asleep. I will update the severe weather numbers on a Sunday morning post.

To John, Thanks for offering the most comprehensive weather coverage on the web. I wish it was easier to find this on my phone. When I am mobile, I am missing out on some great information from you. Keep us updated please on the Sunday night storms.
Thanks JC.... I have heard from a lot of people who have trouble getting the blog on their phones. Not sure what kind of directions to give out. If anybody knows....pass it along to us here. Thanks. JB

It's not in a mobile format (maybe someone else knows how to get that), but if you have an android or iphone, it shouldn't matter all that much.
Open your email, copy and paste the link to JB's blog in the email, send that to yourself. Open the email on your phone, click the link, then bookmark it on your phone's browser.
Or just open your mobile browser and type:
