Updated at 10:30 Tuesday.......
The SPC has increased the tornado threat for today up to 5%.
The first update for today had 0%... the second update 2%.... now it is at 5%.
SPC says: PRESENT INDICATIONS ARE THAT STORMS
WILL INTENSIFY BY EARLY THIS AFTERNOON OVER PARTS OF SOUTHERN IL/WESTERN KY AND SPREAD EASTWARD ROUGHLY ALONG THE OH RIVER THROUGH THE EVENING. SUFFICIENTLY STRONG WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT AND MODERATE INSTABILITY WILL PROMOTE A RISK OF DAMAGING WINDS AND HAIL IN THE STRONGER STORMS.
A WEAK SURFACE BOUNDARY CURRENTLY ACROSS KY/TN WILL LIFT NORTHWARD AND MAY PROVIDE SUFFICIENT LOW LEVEL CONVERGENCE/SHEAR FOR SOME RISK OF SUPERCELLS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES TODAY.
The damaging wind and large hail risk has been upgraded from 5% to 15%.
A SLIGHT RISK for severe storms exists across the region this afternoon including these cities.....
Louisville
Lexington
Owensboro
Elizabethtown
Bowling Green
Cincinnati
Evansville
Indianapolis
Bloomington
Seymour
The next update from the SPC will be by 1:00. If there are any changes, I will post the new maps.
