The big winners of the evening were "The Help" with Viola Davis taking best female in a lead role and Octavia Spencer taking best supporting actress. "The Artist" wasn't far behind with Jean Dujardin winning best male in a lead role. What a spectacular night it was! It was interesting to see the actors just sort-of hang out with each other; Peers supporting peers.
The fashion was a bit more subdued and there was a trend of ashen grey on the red carpet as seen on Octavia Spencer, Julianna Morgulies, Lea Michelle and man others. The evening was quite relaxed and more casual than a typical awards night, but the fashion did not disappoint.
Some highlights were Rose Byrne who stepped out in a sequinned pantsuit that was absolutely stunning and Sophia Vergara showed off her vivacious curves in a beautiful purple strapless gown! Michelle Williams looked amazing in a red gown with lace atop and down the back and Emma Stone hit it in a short black dress with ruffles around the chest, a fitted bodice and full skirt!
