Today our air quality is in the UNHEALTHY category. Usually when we have Air Quality Alerts we end up in the UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS category. Not the case today. This is the worst air quality we've had all year. I partially blame all the road construction and the the ramp/ bridge closures that have drivers turning around in circles just trying to get from point A to point B. Now the upside is that the bridges and ramps will be greatly improved once the work is over, but I know it's frustrating in the meantime.

Of course we are headed up to record high temperatures today. In fact, we may exceed the record high during the morning hours today as we make our way up to 105 degrees! The humidity will make it feel more like 110! We expect to break another record high tomorrow with an expected high of 103 (heat index 108). Not counting today (since we aren't there yet), we have broken record high temperatures 8 out of the last 9 days! The longest stretch of consecutive record highs in Louisville occured in the summer of 1953 with six days of record high temperatures in a row. It looks like we will just end up with 5 days in a row this year, but the year isn't over yet.
